This workshop is based on the assumption that learning is a skill rooted in the connection between body and mind. The aim is to analyze, reflect and provide tools that make embodiment accessible as a way of processing new information. How can ideas and experiences be translated into movement – and vice versa? Whether in a professional dance context or while experiencing our own physical aliveness, we are constantly processing and elaborating the information and concepts through our body as well as our mind. In this workshop I invite you to explore together how shifting attention between conceptualization and perception can enrich our experience of movement. We will be inspired by different methods and work with concepts derived from the anatomy of our bodies. Through guided explorations and targeted exercises, we will develop these further and look for ways in which our physical experience can become a constant source of inspiration – as the driving force behind our movement.
